Essential Activities
- Deliver technical presentations which demonstrate and enforce the value to accounts in terms of productivity, accuracy, quality and return on investment
- Develop prospecting plans for territory development to build rapport and create opportunities
- Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and obtain business requirements
- Fully prospect all commercial and residential construction projects within the territory
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date forecasts
- Manage and maintain accurate leads, opportunities, and account information within Salesforce.com
- Provide sales management with reports on sales activities and projects as requested forecasts
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets
- Pursue and increase knowledge of key competitors to ensure that our value proposition is effectively communicated to customers
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly targets
- Obtain repeat business, referrals, and references by applying an understanding of the unique requirements of your customers
- Timely follow-up and qualification of new prospects from either inbound leads or customer requests generated by marketing
- Networking, relationship building, cold calling, lead follow-up through emails, product demonstrations, and execution of service agreements
- Present a professional and positive company image that models the company values.
Behavioral Traits, Attitudes, And Skills Required
Self-motivation, a team player, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to manage independently with little supervision, and ability to operate with a high level of accuracy/perfection.
Prerequisites
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint plus CRM experience is valuable. (i.e., Salesforce).
- BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit accustomed to aggressive growth
- 2+ years of demonstrated success in “solution sales” in the building construction industry, preferably B2B
- Experience using a consultative, solution-based sales methodology desired
- Proven record of success in an inside sale and or outside sales based selling model
- Proven ability to communicate effectively via telephone and email with customers
- Ability and resilience to work in a fast-paced sales environment
- Ability to develop trusted relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and online collaboration tools
- Experience with CRM and opportunity management systems, preferably Salesforce.com
- Proven ability to develop and manage pipeline and forecasting
